Lululemon MILF
This article was originally posted on the Failblog.org website.
Lululemon has a display window with a print that says: "Be a Milf". Very Classy.
The Good: Got people talking about it. Heck, I'm blogging this right now!
The Bad: Probably not the best PR way to sell clothing
The Ugly: I like the comments found on the site:
"This is obviously on purpose. Why wouldn’t mothers in their 30’s want to be hot, and be women we’d like to bang? Whoever submitted this has failed in the worst way."
"Er, lululemon here has in fact shortened the name of its gym program “Mothers Into Fit Living”, into the subsequent acronym. Google MILF lululemon."
"They put A LOT of market research into that name."
"I love it. Now I want to shop there."

Pottery Barn does one better than TCP
I just did a post for The Children's Place (TCP) not too long ago and thought I'd do another expose on a different children's store: The Pottery Barn Kids.
Compared to TCP, The Pottery Barn Kids does one better with a nice beach display using stuffed animals. They're kid sized and displays nicely for kids passing by and parents thinking it looks cute. Great summery colour scheme too.
There are some sales going on today too so I took a picture of one of the hanging signs just outside the door.
Good: Great action shot and use of space
Bad: Open space at the bottom of the display could have been used to present sales inside the store
Ugly: If I were a child looking inward, I would want to get something for my stuffed animals too!
The Children's Place
The Children's Place is having a sale on for swimwear and summer clothing. I've never shopped for children's clothing before, but the prices inside are very reasonable for a store that I consider high end (readers, correct me if I'm wrong!).
What I like about this display is the mannequin heads substituted with pictured headshots. It gives the window shopper a clearer subject (child's face) and still uses the props (mannequin) that's available to the stores. You'll have to look head-on in order to get the best view because the angle that I took this shot, it looks a bit off.
Good: Different eye catching display for window shoppers
Bad: There could have been more activity within the display
Ugly: Can be creepy to see headless mannequin's with a child's head on display

Apple at Yorkdale
I love these displays by Apple in the Yorkdale mall. On the left side display, an environmentally friendly theme is shown with all of the 'green' features that their latest Macbook comes with. I especially like the "fewer batteries in landfills" post. The right side display has window shoppers walking by hanging iPhone app icons showing off the wide selection of programs to choose from. Take that Blackberry!
Something I think is very cool at the Apple store is that they have free clinics! This kind of support really helps the brand create a loyal fanbase as potential customers can always come back to learn something new for their Mac. As I was taking this picture, I even saw a customer and a one-on-one consultant at the coffee tables just outside the store sipping coffee and learning MAC!

Barbie's 50th Birthday at the Bay
Hello dear readers.
I walked by the Hudson's Bay Company down in Toronto to see Barbie's 50th birthday display (you can read the press release here too). You can still step into the Bay and check out their display inside and out as a commemorative celebration of the 50 years Barbie's been with us.
